Help alleviate loneliness and isolation in our community

Migrant Information Service (Eastern Melbourne)

The community visitors scheme role involves visiting an older person on a regular basis to help alleviate loneliness and isolation. People who speak a second language, even if they have low English speaking skills, are welcome. The Migrant Information Centre is currently seeking volunteer visitors for our Community Visitors Scheme (CVS) program.

This role involves regular weekly visits, providing friendship and companionship for one or two hours per week to older people who are at risk of isolation and loneliness.

Travel reimbursement is available. MIC will provide training and ongoing support.

People who are proficient in English, as well as those with low-English speaking ability are encouraged to apply.
