City of Melville EcoHub Repair Lab event -Electrical Repaireres

Repair Lab Melville (Supported by Volunteer Melville!)

Advertised by Volunteer Melville!

The event runs most months on the fourth Sunday from 9.30am to 12noon at the City of Melville EcoHub.

As a repairer, you will be allocated a repair station to work at, as community members drop-in with their items which need fixing. There is very little pressure to successfully repair an item, and attendees are historically very reasonable and understanding.

We have three repair areas:

  • Textile repairers sow, stitch and mend clothing
  • Electrical repairers work with electrical appliances
  • Household repairers glue, nail, cut etc general household items like furniture, stands, cookware etc.

You will have access to request and use our stock tools and consumables, but specialty tools and consumables are best brought by yourself.

The purpose of this event is to repair and extend the life of items instead of disposing, so to reduce the total waste we generate.

Morning tea provided at each event.
