Volunteer Retail Assistant – Help Local Children & Families

Looking for a rewarding way to give back? Join the friendly team at the Silky Oaks Op Shop and help support vulnerable children, young people and families in our local community. Every purchase made in our shop helps fund the important work of Silky Oaks Children's Haven, so every shift you volunteer really does make a difference.

As a volunteer, you'll help welcome customers, sort and display donations, price stock and keep the shop looking its best. No retail experience is needed—we'll provide all the training and support you need. If you're friendly, reliable and enjoy working with people, you'll fit right in.

Our Op Shop is open Tuesday to Saturday from 8:00am to 2:00pm, with flexible shifts to suit your availability. Whether you can spare a couple of hours or a regular weekly shift, we'd love to hear from you. Saturday volunteers are especially welcome.

Volunteering with Silky Oaks is a great way to meet new people, make lasting friendships, learn new skills and be part of a welcoming team. Many of our volunteers come to help others and stay because they love the people and the sense of purpose they find here.
