STEPS Pathways College, based in Caloundra, is an intensive training course designed to provide young adults with a disability and autism the opportunity to further develop the skills needed to experience a life of independence.
Garden Skills volunteers assist the STEPS Pathways College trainer to deliver learning activities by providing guidance, and support to the students in both practical and theory-based activities.
Learning activities can include planting, potting and propagation, pest and diseases, soil and potting mixes, sustainability, work health and safety, and skills to increase knowledge for future employment.
What we're looking for: *Have an interest in gardening (experience not mandatory) *Motivated to work alongside young adults with a disability and autism, supporting their learning and development with independent living skills *Flexibility and patience, each day can be different *Ability to commit to regular days and hours
