Bingo Assistant

Harold Hawthorne Community Centre is looking for enthusiastic volunteers to assist with our much-loved Friday Bingo program.

As a Bingo Assistant Volunteer, you'll help create a fun, inclusive and engaging experience for our participants while supporting the smooth running of the session. Working alongside our Community Programs team and another volunteer, you'll assist with setting up, welcoming participants, selling Bingo books, processing payments, distributing prizes, and helping during games. If you're comfortable speaking to groups, you may also have the opportunity to learn to call Bingo numbers.

This is a fantastic role for someone who enjoys chatting with people, being part of a team, and making a genuine difference in the lives of older members of our community.

What you'll be doing:

• Setting up and packing down Bingo equipment and activity areas.
• Welcoming participants and helping them get settled.
• Selling Bingo books, processing payments and lunch orders.
• Assisting with raffles, lucky numbers and fundraising activities.
• Helping identify winning games and distributing prizes.
• Supporting the Bingo Caller, with the opportunity to learn number calling.
• Providing friendly customer service and creating a welcoming environment.
• Working as part of a supportive volunteer team.

We're looking for someone who is:

• Friendly, reliable and enjoys working with people.
• A confident communicator with a positive attitude.
• Comfortable handling basic cash transactions.
• Interested in supporting older people and people living with disability.
• Able to work as part of a team and follow procedures.
