Lyell McEwin Hospital - Emergency Department Volunteer

As an Emergency Department volunteer you will be provided with training from established Emergency Department volunteers and greatly assisted in starting your role.

Duties include:

• Sitting and conversing with a person who has a need to talk.
• Listening to a person who has a need to talk.
• Offering clients refreshments as applicable, when checked with nursing staff.
• Making telephone calls on behalf of clients.
• Orienting relatives and friends to available Health Service facilities.
• Assisting with the supervision of children who may be unsupervised due to parent’s treatment.
• Assisting with older individuals who may be confused, disoriented or alone.
• Restocking of equipment & PPE.

We currently have vacancies available over the weekend.

Applicants must be aged 18 years or older.
