Assistant Night Leader & Night Leader Roles - Homeless Outreach Program

300 Blankets is a not for profit, volunteer-run charity, dedicated to supporting people experiencing or at risk of homelessness in Victoria. By reaching out to people who are disenfranchised and socially isolated, we strive to break down barriers and enrich a community where all people are accepted and respected through love, compassion, and dignity.
The Outreach Program operates twice weekly on Tuesday and Thursday nights (7.00pm – 8.30pm) where a group of volunteers walk along a fixed route in Melbourne’s CBD, directly engaging with people sleeping rough.
The Outreach Program operates to provide people experiencing homelessness with friendship and support in a time when they are generally in greatest need of social and material assistance. This is in recognition of the fact that social isolation and a sense of disenfranchisement can proliferate amongst people on the streets.
300 Blankets has developed a high level of trust with people sleeping rough over the last 10 years where we are known as ‘the Blankets people’.
