The Village Chef by Meals on Wheels is looking for volunteer drivers to deliver meals in a responsible and friendly manner to the clients of Hornsby. They encourages dedicated individuals, business and corporate to join their volunteer team to make a difference to the vulnerable.

Volunteer duties:

  • Collect meals from Hornsby kitchen at the designated time.
  • Deliver meals as indicated on the delivery run sheets.
  • Report any concerns about the client to the Coordinator on return from the delivery run - any serious concerns to be reported straight away.

Location: 25/12 Cecil Road, Hornsby

About you:

  • Be 18 years of age or older.
  • Caring attitude towards older people, people with disabilities and their carers.
  • Good listening and observation skills, respectful and confidential.
  • A commitment to volunteer 2 hours per week, fortnight or month, as agreed.
  • Reliable and punctual with 2 days notice if unavailable.
  • Valid driver licence, current vehicle registration (CTP) and current police check.
  • If you are a business or corporate, we will appreciate if you could arrange your employee’s attendance in an ongoing consistent flow, e.g. 2 employees a week/fortnight.
