 To provide transport to clients to and from medical appointments, Day Centre activities and other community based services  Drivers are to go to the client’s door and escort them into the vehicle. On the return trip, the drivers are to escort them to their front door. Note: Some clients prefer to wait outside for their driver, or wait and be returned to their gate – this is NOT a requirement for the client, but a choice.  Where necessary to wait with the clients while he/she attends appointment.  Where necessary to assist the clients to or from the vehicle and provide assistance with bags, mobility aids, etc.  Be aware of changing needs of clients, noting any changes in illness, use of walking aids, change of address  To complete and return daily statistics sheets.  To complete and return transport contribution forms and return money collected on the day.  To take all due care when driving a motor vehicle. Any traffic offences incurred are the obligation of the driver in charge of the vehicle.  In consideration of South East Volunteers Duty of Care drivers must have a zero blood alcohol level prior to service delivery and refrain from drinking alcohol while performing their duties.
