Vegetable Garden Duty Office
Gawler Community House
- Take responsibility for propagating, planting and maintaining kitchen vegetable garden
- Growing in-season vegetables
- Watering and feeding
- Weeding vegetable beds
- Planting & Maintaining Street Eats Vegetable Pots with vegetables the community can pick
- Other garden-related duties
OTHER DUTIES THAT MAY BE REQUIRED:
- Attend meetings as required
- Attend relevant training as required
ESSENTIAL SKILLS / ATTRIBUTES:
- Passion and knowledge of growing vegetables, gardening skills
- General knowledge of vegetable plants and seed raising
- Willingness to follow OHSW procedures and wear personal protective equipment/clothing.
- Able to follow directions from staff
- Able to work unsupervised or as part of a team
- Willing to learn and share skills.
- Able to use initiative where required and to know the limits of their abilities
- A pleasant, non-judgemental and empathetic manner.
- Ability to interact appropriately with a diverse range of clients.
- Honesty and trustworthiness.
- Appropriate dress, language and behaviour.
Horticultural Certificate desirable but not essential. There may be some heavy lifting when using potting soil, mulch, etc.
