Open House is a small Christian charity that has been serving the community for over 50 years. As a not for profit organisation, we depend on volunteers to help us in the delivery of our services.

We seek volunteers who are kind and caring and committed to our mission of giving long-term friendship and support to young people and adults in our community.

The Program

The Clubwork Program is a friendship group that provides social support and activities for people with disabilities, and people facing social isolation and disadvantage. Our staff and volunteers work together to provide enjoyable activities that may include cooking, craft, singing, music and conversations.

The Position

We require volunteers who enjoy engaging with people and assisting them to participate in a range of fun activities.

Responsibilities:

  • Developing friendly, trusting and positive relationships with participants to help them connect through conversation and interaction with other people, some of whom have a range of disabilities and needs.

  • Assisting participants with a range of activities, including arts and crafts, cooking and singing.

  • Attending weekly meetings run prior to the commencement of the Program.

  • Assisting with cleaning after the program as required.
