The Boroondara Volunteer Resource Centre is advertising this position on behalf of Education CHANCES Foundation.

Duties would include:

  • Attendance at all Board Meetings, which are normally face to face and held every two months and ZOOM based Board Activity Plan Update meetings in the alternate months (Note: All meetings are scheduled for 4:30pm)
  • Relevant note taking at all meetings
  • Providing the Secretary with draft minutes no later than 7 days after the relevant meeting

Skills and Attributes:

  • Proven experience in work of this nature
  • Ability to take minutes accurately and in line with current practices that concentrate on important items and the underlying reason/s for whatever action is taken
  • A commitment to helping give young people a “hand-up not a handout”
  • Attendance at all meetings except when understandable personal circumstances prevent this
  • Observance of all current health requirements in relation to COVID 19 that apply at the time or the requirements of the provider of our meeting facilities
  • References as to character and competency

The successful applicant to have a Working with Children Check in place before appointment is confirmed. We can help you obtain one if needed. This is a voluntary on-going position that can be terminated at the request of either party on one month’s notice. As with other volunteer positions there is no remuneration but reimbursement is available for any pre-approved and documented expenses incurred on the Foundation’s behalf
