Sewing Volunteer

The Community Learning team is currently recruiting Community Programs Volunteers to deliver regular sewing workshops and advisory sessions at the Parks Library.
We are looking for volunteers who have a passion for sharing their skills with the community, as well as patience to teach and guide beginners. Volunteers are not expected to be experts, however a good level of sewing skills is preferable.
Responsibilities
- Support the City of PAE Libraries Community Learning team to deliver lifelong learning opportunities to the community.
- Assist with the set up and pack up of equipment and materials
- Facilitate sewing workshops, sharing how to operate a sewing machine safely, the basic functions of the Brother Sewing Machine, and how to do simple sewing projects such as making adjustments to clothing.
- Staff will support volunteers with preparation and group facilitation as required.

When and Where

Workshops generally run for up to 2 hours on Tuesdays and Sundays. Additional days and times can be negotiable, during normal Library operating hours.

Volunteers will be based at Parks Library initially, with the option to offer workshops at Enfield, Greenacres or Port Adelaide Libraries if desired.
