State Library of Queensland has digitised the Colonial Secretary's letters relating to Moreton Bay and Queensland 1822-1860 from a microfilm collection. This large collection of more than 42,000 pages of correspondence over nearly 40 years has been challenging to research.

Volunteer work to index these letters from microfilm has been valuable to people researching Queensland history and family histories. The digitised collection includes transcripts generated by handwritten text recognition (HTR) software, but there are limitations to software transcription of handwritten text.

State Library invites volunteers to improve the accuracy of transcripts from this collection.
