Hyland House Respite Centre - Share Your Time Volunteer, Petrie

Wesley Mission Queensland’s Hyland House Respite Centre is seeking volunteers to share their time, connect with others, and give back to the community!

Hyland House Respite Centre is for seniors and individuals with disabilities in the Pine Rivers area. It is a wonderful place to connect, meet people, and make new friends. Our services include centre-based day respite and a diverse range of programs and activities, social groups, and social outings.

We are currently looking for volunteers to join our vibrant and supportive team to assist with:

• Scheduling daily programs
• Table games with clients, including bingo, puzzles, scrabble, and dominos
• Arts and craft
• Running the hobby shed to make items with wood
• Gardening
• One-on-one time having conversations with clients, reading, or doing activities
• Social groups, chats in small groups
• Preparing, serving, and clearing refreshments and keeping the kitchen running efficiently
• Simple exercises
• Sharing your special talents
• Helping out where you can!

Volunteer hours are available on weekdays from 9:00am to 1:30pm.

Hyland House Respite Centre is a welcoming and rewarding place to volunteer. You will meet many wonderful people from various backgrounds and learn new skills that may assist you personally and professionally.   There are lots of other benefits to volunteering with us as well, such as:

Volunteers follow a COVID-19 safe work plan, provide proof they have received one primary COVID-19 vaccinations before commencement and do not provide personal care.
