Classroom Assistant Volunteer

We require volunteers to assist the classroom trainer teaching adults from non-English speaking backgrounds. Classes are run from Monday-Friday 9:30am until 2pm and follow school term dates.
- Prepare classrooms and instructional materials for lessons and events as directed by the trainer,
- Assist with creating a welcoming, safe and inspiring atmosphere in the classroom
- Assist with set up and clean-up before and after the lesson,
- Assist trainers with correcting classwork and recording performance,
- Provide support to individual learners/the class during a lesson as directed by the teacher within the framework of the current program.
- Providing tutoring, which may be individual, in groups or whole class, during class time.
- Assist with preparation, attendance and supervision of activities outside of the classroom such as nature/ garden walks and class trips
- Follow the teaching schedule as provided by the trainer. Provide feedback to the trainer after each lesson about activities, student progress and observations made
