We have a meaningful opportunity for volunteers to join our Small Steps program, based in Hobart.

Small Steps is a live-in parenting and life skills program where young mums and their babies grow together and learn to be a family in a safe and nurturing environment.

The young mums are provided with onsite education and understanding of child development and the practical application of parenting skills to successfully and independently transition into the community with improved levels of self-confidence and employability.

We are seeking volunteers to be onsite overnight and on weekends to contribute to this innovative program and positively impact the lives of the young women and their children.

Two volunteer shift types are available:

Sleepover shift: Volunteers stay overnight on site and are available to provide support to the young mums if called upon. A private unit is available for sleeping and to prepare a meal. The volunteer would generally be available to the residents between 5pm & 10pm and after 10pm for emergencies only. You will be trained and supported by experienced senior staff.

This volunteer role is a fantastic opportunity to contribute to an innovative program and positively impact the lives of young women and their children.

Weekend Day Shift: Volunteers remain on site during their shift and are available to provide support to the young mums if called upon. This volunteer role is a fantastic opportunity to contribute to an innovative program and positively impact the lives of young women and their children.

We currently have the ongoing shifts only available: • Day shifts - Weekends • Overnight shifts - weekly or fortnightly available
