Vinnies Braddon - Retail Assistant/Donation Sorting and General Hand Volunteers

Vinnies shops raise money to help people who can’t afford the basics. But there’s another benefit — the items we sell are donated, which means we’re extending the life of garments, aiding circular fashion, and helping the planet as well. Through our Canberra shops this year, we diverted 3,000 tons of clothing from local landfill.

You can see how the Vinnies magic happens when you volunteer with us. Each Centre is its own shop family, and our volunteer roles are designed so every person gets the most from what they’re doing. People of all ages and abilities are encouraged to apply, with shifts available on weekdays and weekends — and some evenings too, which means we even have roles for people who work during the day.

We specialise in finding the right job to suit your strengths. All training is provided by professional managers and our supportive staff, and our beautiful volunteers are always there to welcome you and back you up.

You will need to read and sign some forms, and you may also need a WWVP— but we can help you with this. It’s free for volunteers, and all personal information is handled in accordance with the Privacy Act 1998.
