The Boroondara Volunteer Resource Centre is advertising this role on behalf of the Fair Trade and Gift Shop.

Your time will help extend the life of quality items, reduce waste and support the circular economy through reuse of donated items. Most importantly, you’ll help us raise funds and provide support for disadvantaged members of our community, while contributing to meaningful work with artisans and local communities.

You’ll be a great fit if you:

  • Enjoy practical, hands-on work and keeping things organised
  • Are reliable, punctual and able to commit to one day per week
  • Can stand, bend and lift light bags or boxes, with support available where needed
  • Have a positive attitude and are happy to help wherever needed
  • Have strong communication skills and a friendly manner
  • Enjoy working as part of a team

What you’ll gain:

  • Hands-on experience in retail, sustainable fashion and ethical trading
  • The opportunity to learn about reuse, recycling and the circular economy
  • Valuable communication, teamwork and customer service skills
  • A welcoming community of passionate volunteers
  • The satisfaction of making a real difference to people and the planet

By volunteering with us, you’ll help promote ethical and sustainable fashion, support artisans in Timor-Leste and the Larrakia Nation, empower local communities and give donated items a new life.

Join us and help create positive change—one donation at a time!
