The Victorian Teachers' Games (VTG) is held in Melbourne from September 20 - 22, 2026. With over 1,800 teachers and education staff expected from across the state to compete in a mecca of sporting, recreation/wellness and social activities, the 2026 VTG will offer Victorian educators the unique opportunity to network with fellow colleagues, celebrate their achievements and take part in activities to build team camaraderie within their school teams.
Volunteers are an integral part of VTG and are vital in creating the amazing atmosphere that VTG is; and ensuring the many different events that make up VTG run smoothly. Volunteering means you can be part of this amazing event, meet lots of great people and build your sporting event management experience.
Tasks May Involve:
- Registering participants at the registration hub
- Using the online registration system
- Assisting as an official/assistant in an event before, during and after the competition
Main Duties:
- Customer service
- Officiating and assisting at VTG events
- Registration administration
- Photography/social media
- General event hand
- Assisting VTG team in misc. tasks
Skills and Experience:
- Desired Attributes: Friendly, adaptable & cooperative, a basic understanding of technology, knowledge of how to use a laptop, fit & able to work accordingly in sporting environments
- Desired Experience: Experience is valued, but not vital
- Desired Skills: Organised, excellent verbal and written communication skills, able to meet deadlines, fast learner, confident in customer service
Volunteers will be required for a minimum of four hours, to assist with an allocated event. The VTG team will work within the availability of the volunteer. If you work as a volunteer for over 4 hours, you will be catered for with a lunch pack.
