Warrigal

Logo for Warrigal

Warrigal is an award-winning, for-purpose community-owned organisation that provides a range of retirement living and aged care services in the Illawarra, Southern Highlands, Queanbeyan, and Canberra regions. For over 50 years, we've been dedicated to creating inspiring, supportive, and connected communities for older people, and are proud to be innovative leaders of best practice.

As a Walking Group Volunteer at Warrigal Queanbeyan, you'll be part of an experienced and dedicated team, supporting residents in engaging and enjoyable recreational activities that promote physical well-being.

Walking Group Volunteers will:

  • Lead and accompany residents on group walks, ensuring their safety and enjoyment.

  • Foster a welcoming and inclusive atmosphere during the walking sessions.

  • Provide assistance and encouragement to residents as needed.

  • Engage residents in meaningful conversation.

  • Demonstrate patience, empathy, and a passion for outdoor activities.

  • Collaborate effectively with staff and fellow volunteers to enhance residents' experiences.

By volunteering with Warrigal, you can experience the fulfilment of giving back while enjoying the outdoors and reaping the rewards of enriching the lives of older people through physical activity.

We offer flexible days (Monday to Friday) and times (mornings). If you can only commit to one day of volunteering, that is absolutely fine.

Benefits:
