Volunteer Opportunity – Aged Care Volunteer Visitors Scheme (ACVVS) Location: Capricorn Residential Aged Care Home, Yeppoon : gentleman living in his own home in Yeppoon - very lonely - used to love being outdoors fixing things - now lives with daughter who works full time - likes jenga - used to be a volunteer fire fighter until 3 years ago - understanding with dementia would be helpful.

The Aged Care Volunteer Visitors Scheme (ACVVS) connects volunteers with people who are socially isolated and would benefit from friendship and companionship. A simple visit and friendly conversation can make a world of difference.
As a volunteer, you’ll be supported by a dedicated Volunteer Coordinator and/or the onsite Lifestyle Team.
What’s involved? Visits can be as little as one hour per fortnight Days and times are flexible to suit both you and the resident No prior experience needed – just a warm heart and a listening ear
