Vinnies shops do more than sell great bargains — every sale helps raise funds to support people in our community who are struggling to afford the basics. But there’s another powerful impact too. Everything we sell is donated, which means we’re giving garments a second life, promoting circular fashion, and helping protect our planet. In fact, this year alone, Vinnies shops across Canberra diverted over 3,000 tonnes of clothing from landfill — a massive win for people and the planet.
When you volunteer with us, you’ll see how the Vinnies magic happens behind the scenes. Each shop is its own friendly “shop-family,” where every volunteer plays a valued role and gets the chance to grow, learn, and contribute in a meaningful way.
We’re currently looking for weekend volunteers who’d love to spend a few hours doing something social, rewarding, and genuinely good. Whether you’re looking to connect with your community, build skills, or simply spend your weekend doing something that feels great, there’s a spot for you at Vinnies.
People of all ages and abilities are welcome to apply. We offer flexible shifts during the week and on weekends too which is perfect if you work or study during the week.
