Would you like to make a difference in an older gentleman's life and make a new friend? Do you love gardens and a good chat? This gentleman living in Benloch is seeking a friendly visitor to visit him at his lovely property. Visits may involve any activities that both you and the participant both enjoy, such as chatting over a cup of tea, shared hobbies, going for a walk or out for a local cuppa. The Aged Care Volunteer Visitors Scheme supports individual elderly community members who may be feeling socially isolated. Volunteers are matched with individuals with similar interests for regular weekly or fortnightly social visits or outings to reduce loneliness and increase community connections. Regular support is provided to Volunteers through the ACWS Coordinator. To volunteer you need to : Be over the age of 18 years. Have time to commit to weekly or fortnightly visits for a minimum of 12 months Be happy to undergo a screening process (interview and reference checks) Undergo a Police Check and sign a Statutory Declaration if necessary.
