Volunteering Queensland is the lead voice for volunteering in Queensland. Our work is vital to ensure volunteer involving organisations can engage, manage and retain a strong, effective volunteer workforce.

About the Position

The Sector Engagement Support Volunteer is an important customer-facing role that helps us increase our impact across the volunteering sector.

You will be the friendly and helpful voice on the end of phone (and email inbox). You will enhance the support we offer to our members, other volunteer involving organisations and the public.

On a typical day, your tasks may include:

• answering incoming enquiries via phone and email
• checking in with members to ensure they are making the most of their membership
• reviewing and publishing volunteer position adverts submitted by our members
• collecting stories of best practice in volunteering and volunteer management
• updating database records.

There will also be plenty of opportunity for you to shape the role to suit your skills and interests. Potential projects may include marketing, events, data analysis and much more.

About You

Our Sector Engagement Support Volunteer will have strong interpersonal skills and will be great on the phone. You’ll be an excellent communicator – both verbally and in writing. Attention to detail is important, as is the ability to follow instructions.

Experience in an office and/or client service environment is an advantage, but not essential... as long as you know your way around Microsoft Office applications and understand the principles of customer service.

If you have experience in the volunteering sector, either as a volunteer manager or volunteer, that would be a bonus.
