Garden Group Co-facilitator

Role Purpose Develop your group facilitation skills to co-ordinate our Community Garden program. This is volunteer role offers opportunities to connect with others, coordinate projects, arrange activities, outings to gardens, creative projects, and much more! This is a fun and social volunteer role. Gardening skills are an advantage, but not essential as your love of people and community will drive success in this role.

• Welcome newcomers and encourage their participation in activities.
• Support participants to develop their community garden, harvest, plan and be creative.
• Ensure participants pack up and tidy up at the end of each session, all materials and tools are cleaned and returned to the potting shed. Create a roster of participant responsibilities.
• Assist in planning and marketing term program that includes group activities, guest speakers, demonstrations and outings.
• Liaise with staff to ensure supplies, tools and plants are available for the program. Plan within allocated budget.
• Opportunity to participate in community cooking program (optional).
• Liaise with other volunteers, staff and visitors.
