Environmental Campaigning Volunteer
The Darling Downs Environment Council (DDEC) is the peak environment council for the Darling Downs, Southern Downs, Western Downs and Lockyer Valley regions. Established in 2014 it represents and supports local democratic grass roots environmental protection and conservation groups. DDEC is the regional branch of the Queensland Conservation Council, the state’s peak environmental body and is largely funded through a grant administered by the Department of Environment and Science (DES) and auspiced by the Queensland Conservation Council.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
Campaign Outreach: Assist in planning and implementing outreach activities to raise awareness about environmental issues and campaign objectives.
Community Engagement: Engage with community members, stakeholders, and target audiences to garner support for the campaign.
Event Coordination: Help organize and promote events such as rallies, protests, workshops, and educational sessions related to the campaign.
Social Media and Communications: Support the campaign's online presence by creating content, sharing updates on social media platforms, and engaging with followers.
Volunteer Recruitment: Recruit and mobilize volunteers to participate in campaign activities, ensuring adequate support for campaign initiatives.
Data Collection and Analysis: Assist in collecting data, conducting surveys, and analyzing information to assess the impact of campaign efforts and identify areas for improvement.
Advocacy and Lobbying: Advocate for policy changes and engage in lobbying efforts with elected officials, government agencies, and other decision-makers.
Collaboration: Collaborate with other campaign team members, partner organizations, and volunteers to coordinate efforts and maximize impact.
