Volunteer LAP Mentors (Mentoring school students 5-16 Years)

Trinity College Blakeview

Trinity College, an Anglican College with 5 EY-10 schools is seeking volunteer LAP Mentors to meet with a student from Early Years to Year 10 once a week for 50 Minutes at any of its 5 schools located at Blakeview, Gawler River (Angle Vale), Roseworthy, Trinity North and Trinity South (both located at Evanston). The LAP Program supports students who struggle to engage in their schooling for a variety of reasons and may benefit from connecting with a regular mentor. Students and mentors work together on fun and engaging activities that may help to assist in self-esteem, resilience, positive role modelling, developing a talent or even helping with homework. Mentors are not expected to fulfil the role of tutor or counselor but that of a trusted and reliable adult to a young person. Being a volunteer LAP Mentor is a great way to develop skills in relationship building, can be included on your CV and provides a great deal of self-satisfaction in being able to help.
