Darkness to Daylight Event Volunteer

Challenge DV

In Australia on average 110 people die from domestic and family violence every year. Darkness to Daylight is a 110km run, where each kilometre represents one of those lives lost.

When you take part in Challenge DV's Darkness to Daylight event, you are making a stand, helping to drive community awareness and intervention, and raising crucial funds to help prevent domestic and family violence.

Following an opening ceremony commencing at 6pm on 29 May, featuring a Welcome to Country and smoking ceremony and speaker remarks, overnight participants will set off. Participants for the 3 kilometre walk and 10 kilometre run will join them just before dawn on Thursday 30 May so that everyone returns at sunrise for the closing ceremony's final address and musical performances at 6.30am.

Our Event Day Volunteer roles are many and varied – we have on course roles, such as course marshals and refreshment station assistants and event site roles, such as start line marshals and check-in assistants.

Shifts are varied dependent on the exact role, however the event runs overnight from 12:00pm on the 29th of May to 8:00am on the 30th of May, so the shifts will be within this time frame.
