South East Volunteers

Logo for South East Volunteers

• To ensure safety and security of the clients on the bus. • Jockeys are to go to the client’s door and escort them into the vehicle. On the return trip, the jockeys are to escort them to their front door. NOTE: Some clients prefer to wait outside, or wait and be returned to their gate – this is NOT a requirement for the client, but a choice. • Assist in helping clients on and off the bus. • Ensure all clients have the seat belts on and, if required, assist them with the seat belt. • Provide support and encouraging environment for social interaction to take place amongst the group. • Report all incidents/accidents regardless of how minor in nature they may appear at the time and record on forms provided. • Be aware of changing needs of clients, noting any changes in illness, use of walking aids, change of address and inform SEV. • To complete and return transport contribution forms and return money collect on the day. • Observe and carry out instructions from SEV. • In case of emergency to follow the procedures as listed.
