Social Wellbeing Companion - Kelmscott
Advertised by Volunteering WA
Do you enjoy conversation, listening to stories and helping others feel connected? We are seeking a kind and caring volunteer to join our Kelmscott aged care home as a Social Wellbeing Companion.
In this rewarding role, you will spend meaningful one-on-one time with elderly residents, offering companionship through friendly conversation, shared interests and reminiscing about life experiences. Your visits can help residents form social connections, reduce feelings of loneliness and feel valued as part of their community.
We ask volunteers to be available for a minimum of 2 hours once a week, during the working week. Days and times can be discussed with the team to find a suitable arrangement.
We are seeking someone who:
- Enjoys chatting with older people and has a genuine interest in their stories.
- Is patient, reliable, friendly and respectful.
- Can listen with warmth and empathy.
- Would like to make a positive difference in the lives of elderly residents.
As a Social Wellbeing Companion, you can brighten someone’s week simply by being present, sharing conversation and helping residents feel heard, connected and appreciated.
If you have any questions, please call our Volunteer Lead on 0436 936 444.
