In line with our strategic plan and succession planning, Buddy Up Australia is seeking an experienced Non- Executive Director with extensive finance and accounting skills at an executive level to join our Board of Directors. We are seeking someone who wants to make a real difference to the lives of those who serve our country both domestically and overseas.

Buddy Up Australia aims to enrich the lives of serving and former emergency services and military personnel through connection and purpose. We do this through physical, social, volunteering and awareness activities.

Buddy Up Australia is a company limited by guarantee with ASIC, is a registered charity with ACNC and has Deductible Gift Recipient (DGR) status with the ATO. It was established on 5 Feb 2018 and is a national organisation, with it’s HQ in Perth.

Essential experience, skills and qualifications:

• Excellent knowledge of strategic finances, governance principles, legal obligations and ethical standards applicable in Australia

• Financial and Risk Management

• Strong communication skills, a high level of emotional intelligence, and the ability to engage and motivate diverse stakeholders

• Strategic thinking and analytical abilities, with a track record of participating and supporting organisations through strategic planning processes and implementation

• AICD or equivalent qualifications and prior Board experience

Desirable experience, skills and qualifications

• Experience in the emergency services or defence sectors

• Experience in fundraising and donations

• Legal acumen
