Human Resources Officer - IVP Australia

We are looking for motivated individuals to join IVP as the HR officer.

About us:

International Volunteers for Peace (IVP) is a non-profit local community group. It focuses on organising volunteering opportunities around worthwhile community needs and causes, for which it recruits participants from Australia and all across the world through its global network.

IVP is the Australian branch of SCI. IVP is also a member of Network for Voluntary Development in Asia (NVDA) which is a network of international voluntary service (IVS) NGOs in Asia & Oceania.

IVP activities are aimed at encouraging understanding among peoples and promoting discussion and an appreciation of the problems that different communities face in their struggles for social justice and environmental harmony.

We are looking for someone who:

• aligns with the IVP mission
• is prepared to take an active role in the organisation

Job Description:

The task will be to recruit a number of other volunteers to fill roles required by the organisation.

Specific tasks are:

• Update existing material on recruitment, set up systems including flow chart for responses

• Collaborate with committee to write job description for various volunteer positions as required

• Write and place advertisements in suitable places including online

• Record responses and liaise with committee on selection criteria

• Assist with selecting and interviewing applicants

• Review and update volunteer orientation resources

Time commitment: We ask for 10 -12 hours per month. The role can be completed from home.

Support from other volunteers will be readily available. Your ideas on improving our current systems will be welcome.
