About The Footpath Library The Footpath Library is the only non-profit organisation in Australia that operates free giving mobile libraries for people experiencing, or at risk of, homelessness. Our mission is to encourage the benefits of reading and social connection by giving free, quality books and reading glasses to people experiencing homelessness and provide a place for social connection and inclusion. Since 2007, The Footpath Library has given away more than 75,000 books to people experiencing, or at risk of, homelessness in NSW, Victoria and WA. About the Role The Footpath Library (TFL) is looking for a Company Secretary to join the TFL Board. This role is for a voluntary position with a term of two years. The Company Secretary will be responsible for assisting with the good governance of the TFL. It is anticipated that the Company Secretary will attend and participate in board meetings, assist in preparing the agenda for board meetings, take minutes of board meetings and assist with implementing and communicating board decisions. Application Criteria TFL invites applications from: Candidates of all genders, ages, cultural backgrounds, and abilities from Sydney NSW. Candidates who are prepared to commit approximately **5 to 8 hours per month**** to attend a board meeting (in person or via Google meet) and attend to governance matters in-between board meetings.

TFL particularly welcomes and invites applications from candidates looking to gain insight and experience in the governance of a charitable not for profit company. TFL considers that the position of Company Secretary would be ideally suited to a person in the early to mid-stages of their career who is interested in gaining experience in the governance of a not for profit organisation.
