Responsibilities include;

• Provide themed simulated role-plays with dental and oral health students that are designed to prompt them to employ known communication strategies in order to address a particular problem.
• Provide own life experience and stories and adapt them to suit the communication challenge at hand e.g. you are an anxious patient, someone who has a complaint, someone receiving bad news
• Provide feedback to students about your 'patient experience'
• Attend training and induction sessions which will provide you with guidelines on how to respond and all sessions are supervised by staff who provide guidance for students throughout
• Adhere to the University's Volunteer Policy and Procedures
