Elderly Chinese Social Support Groups Volunteer

To provide transport assistance for Chinese clients who meet on a regular basis at morning tea, lunch or other activities. • Confirm the attendance of clients who are able to attend. Confirm time they will be picked up • Contact and confirm the venue • Pick up clients from their homes • Assist clients to order and pay for their meal • Provide supportive and encouraging environment for social interaction to take place amongst the group • Return clients to their homes ensuring they are escorted safely to their door • Be aware of changing needs of clients, noting any changes in illness, use of walking aids, change of address • No lifting of clients or wheelchairs • Any incidents/mishaps/accidents must be reported immediately to SEV, on the form provided • Phone SEV and give mileage and names of clients who attended, Monthly forms (travel expenses, list of attendees) are to be returned to SEV before the end of the month • If unable to drive, attend or change venue please notify SEV • In consideration of SEV’s duty of Care all volunteers must have zero blood alcohol and refrain from smoking when with clients
