Advertised by Volunteer for KnoxAs a Events Officer, you will play a crucial role in creating and managing events tailored for the Chinese Association of Victoria (CAV) young members which aims to promote a sense of belonging amongst the Chinese and Australian community. Our aim is to organize events around Chinese cultural holidays, career development and events promoting the Chinese community.
Benefits: You will be able to participate in our induction program and internal training skills sessions where you will learn practical and transferable skills in community organisation, teamwork and tools to complete tasks. This includes access to templates, feedback on event planning and execution as well as training on fundraising activities. You will have access to successful professionals and business leaders who provide career advice, mentoring and the opportunity to grow your professional network. Provided you do a good job, you will receive a certificate and character reference that can be used for employment and academic purposes.
Location: Around Melbourne or at CAV campus at Wantirna.
Duties/Responsibilities:
Organise and manage events for young members Facilitate new initiatives to improve the experience of new international students in Australian culture Represent the CAV Youth committee at CAV events Requirements: a current Working with Children’s Check, being proactive, willing to learn, strong time management and organisational skills, strong written and verbal communication skills and strong interpersonal skills.
