Objective: To assist in the preparation, packaging, and distribution of meals for seniors and individuals with disabilities. Responsibilities: 1. Food Preparation: Assist in preparing meals according to established recipes and portion sizes under the guidance of the kitchen staff. 2. Meal Packaging: Package prepared meals into individual containers, ensuring proper labelling and adherence to food safety standards. 3. Cleaning and Sanitisation: Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area, including washing dishes, sanitising surfaces, and disposing of food waste. 4. Inventory Management: Assist in inventory control by monitoring stock levels of food and supplies, and notifying staff when supplies need to be replenished. 5. Compliance: Adhere to all food safety regulations and guidelines, including proper food handling, storage, and sanitation practices. 6. Teamwork: Collaborate with kitchen staff and fellow volunteers to ensure efficient meal preparation and distribution. 7. Communication: Communicate any issues or concerns regarding food quality, equipment malfunctions, or safety hazards to kitchen staff promptly. 8. Flexibility: Be willing to assist with additional tasks or responsibilities as needed, such as assisting with special events or fundraisers. Qualifications: 1. Food Safety Knowledge: Basic understanding of food safety principles and practices preferred. 2. Reliability: Dependable and punctual, with a commitment to fulfilling scheduled volunteer shifts. 3. Physical Stamina: Ability to stand for extended periods and lift/move heavy objects (e.g., bags of groceries, trays of food). 4. Team Player: Positive attitude, strong interpersonal skills, and willingness to work collaboratively with others. 5. Compassion: Compassionate towards seniors and individuals with disabilities, with a desire to make a positive impact in their lives. 6. Training: Volunteers will receive training on food safety protocols, meal preparation procedures, and any other relevant policies or guidelines. 7.
