The Good Box Volunteer
Are you interested in doing more for your community whilst helping those in need? I’ve got the perfect thing for you!
As a volunteer at The Good Box, your help makes a true difference in the lives of those experiencing homelessness. We provide boxes full of essentials (shampoo, canned goods, clothes etc.) to provide care and support with dignity.
Our warehouse is located at 2/491 North Rd, Ormond and we are in need of volunteers! We go through a screening process for our volunteers and those most suitable will be chosen.
For our term 2 volunteers intake (Aug-Dec 2026), applications will close at 5pm on the 16th of July 2026. Our Meet and Greet/training is mandatory and will be held at 1pm on the 23rd of July.

It is important that you read this before applying, as it contains essential information about when volunteers are required. Please only submit an application if your availability aligns with the dates and requirements listed in the calendar.
The Job:
- Packing our Good Boxes
- Sorting/Organising stock in the space
- General cleaning
- If you feel comfortable being in our fun social media.
- Christmas fundraising calls
There are also extra roles needed that pop up from time to time like deliveries and pick up of donations throughout Melbourne as well as assisting us at events.
If you’ve read through the calendar, you will see that the coloured shifts are very important and mandatory shifts. These shifts are for our main campaigns/drives.

Willing to make friends within the community! You’ll become a part of the TGB family. Essential that all coloured shifts are attended + at least 3 grey shifts. See Cal for more information. Willing to assist with adhoc events.
