Ipswich Domestic Violence Court Reception Service Networkers: Expression of Interest

Networkers are a central point of contact for court users. The main duties of a Networker are to:
- Welcome and greet all court users (including aggrieved and respondents to the matter, police, and private lawyers, etc.) when they arrive at court
- Provide arrival triage and referral to duty lawyers
- Assist with warm referrals to in-court supports, liaising with court users and service providers to promote and ensure the smooth running of the daily court list
- Provide non-legal information to court users about court processes
- Provide information about what court users expect on the day of court
- Update and maintain a live database and accurate documentation of court attendance with court requirements
- Advocate for court users in relation to their need for safety planning, interpreters, and other priority requirements
Expectations of a Networker are to:
- Promote service user safety
- Work independently as well as within a team
- Follow instructions and practice guidelines
- Have good digital literacy and confidence; record-keeping, emailing, communication and information sharing
- Adhere to privacy policy requirements
Our volunteers must have strong verbal and interpersonal communication skills, confidence using technology (Microsoft and excel like software) and the ability to foster inclusivity and a person-centred approach to supporting all court users. This multifaceted and interesting role is best suited to someone who is proactive, a ‘people-person’, passionate about improving access to justice, and is wanting to volunteer on an ongoing and regular basis. Court Network volunteers must be 18 years or over
