Toy Library Helper
Advertised by Volunteer South West IncorporatedA toy library volunteer plays a crucial role in supporting our Toy Library. We are 100% volunteer run. We lend out toys, similar to how a traditional library lends books. A toy library volunteer contributes to the smooth operation of the library, supporting the educational and recreational needs of children, fostering a love of learning in an inclusive environment. Our volunteer would:
- Manage toys – help with the organisation, cleaning and maintenance of the toys, including checking toy safety, repairing minor damage, and ensuring everything is in working order.
- Provide customer service – assist members to find and borrow toys. This includes answering questions, giving recommendations, and guiding families through the borrowing process.
- Complete administrative tasks – assist members to check-in and check-out toys, maintain records and handle paperwork related to borrowing.
- Support events – assist in organising and running special events, such as toy themed workshops, community playdays or fundraisers.
- Engage with the community – promote the toy library’s services, recruit new members, build relationships with local organisations and schools.
- Maintain safety and cleanliness – ensure the play environment is safe and clean for all users, including routine toy cleaning.
- Manage inventory - assist with cataloguing new toys, keep track of inventory levels and help with toy drive donations.
