Social Wellbeing - Dementia Support Companion - Wembley

Do you have experience supporting people living with dementia? Can you offer friendship, reassurance and companionship?
Join us in providing compassionate support to our residents living with dementia at our residential aged care home in Wembley.
We are seeking volunteers who have experience engaging with and supporting people living with dementia who are available during the working week. The day and hours can be negotiated with the Wellbeing Coordinator once you commence. We ask for a commitment once a week, for a minimum of 2 hours.
The role would involve providing reassurance, listening, reading, reminiscing and taking a resident for a walk around the facility. You must have experience engaging and supporting people living with Dementia.
As a Social Wellbeing Dementia Support Companion volunteer, you will:
- Provide companionship through conversation, listening and reminiscing
- Reading with residents
- Accompanying residents for walks around the facility
- Offer gentle reassurance and emotional support
- Become a valuable member of our team with ongoing support throughout your volunteer journey.
