Werribee Coast Guard is a local coast guard, part of the Australian Volunteer Coast Guard organisation, dedicated to serving our boating community around Australia through search and rescue, vessel tracking, marine radio, training and more.
Werribee Coast Guard assists in marine search and rescue operations in Port Phillip Bay, providing emergency response services and engages in public awareness activities to promote marine safety.
Position Description
As an Operational Member, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safety of the boating community by participating in search and rescue missions, emergency responses, and public awareness initiatives.
Key responsibilities
- Search and Rescue: Participate in coordinated search and rescue operations to assist distressed vessels and individuals.
- Emergency Response: Engage in emergency response activities, including first aid, radio communication, and handling emergency equipment.
- Public Awareness: Support community outreach efforts by educating the public on marine safety rules and regulations, and participating in awareness events.
Location: Cnr Beach Road and O'Connor's Road, Werribee South

- Attend training sessions
- Monthly meetings, and
- At least 1 boat duty a month
