Handy Person Volunteer - Elorac Place Community Centre, Ellen Grove

Wesley Mission Queensland’s Elorac Place Community Centre is looking for individuals interested in volunteering their time to help us with completing small maintenance tasks around the centre and basic repairs and paint touch ups.
Elorac Place Community Centre is a safe community hub that provides a wide range of programs, activities and services to support youth, families, children and individuals.
About the Volunteer Role
With support from paid staff, the Volunteer Handy Person will assist with tasks such as:
- Assisting with general maintenance tasks including, but not limited to, assembling flat pack furniture and tasks that maintain the centre's appearance
- Conducting small repairs to cupboard doors, window locks, flyscreens and furniture
- Painting or retouching small areas
- Using tools such as drills and ladders, as required
- Other tasks as required.
Volunteer hours are available: Monday to Friday, between 9am and 3pm.
Given the nature of the role, knowledge and experience using power and manual tools is required. Trade or handy person experience is preferred but not essential.
All our volunteers follow a COVID-19 safe work plan and provide proof that they have received one primary COVID-19 vaccinations before being registered.
Volunteers must also have a current Working with Children Blue Card or NDIS Workers Screening Clearance check before commencement. This can be applied for through Wesley Mission Queensland at no cost to you.
