Volunteer Visitors Needed! Central Coast NSW (northern area) *Aged Care Social Visitors*

Logo for Volunteering Central Coast

If you live on the northern end of the Central Coast (around the suburbs of Bateau Bay, Killarney Vale, Toukley, Kanwal, Hamlyn Terrace and Norah Head), we have older residents living in aged care homes who would appreciate a regular 1:1 social visit from a friendly volunteer.

Social connections are essential to everyone's wellbeing. No-one should have to feel alone in their twilight years, especially older people who still have so much to offer.

Volunteering Central Coast makes meaningful connections between volunteers and recipients living in aged care facilities across the NSW Central Coast through the government-funded Aged Care Volunteer Visitors Scheme (ACVVS).

Visits are purely for social reasons (no running errands, transporting to medical appointments, or personal care duties) and occur on a regular ongoing basis (eg an hour a week or fortnight). Time can be spent doing activities you both enjoy - conversations while enjoying a cuppa together, sharing stories of your lives, going for a walk in the garden, playing a card or board game, or enjoying a hobby together.

It's all about connection, companionship and community.

Please register your interest today and an ACVVS Coordinator will be in touch with more information about the next steps.
