Both roles help boost students’ confidence, wellbeing and sense of belonging, and EdConnect provides the structure and support to match volunteers with students who will benefit most. The EdConnect program is built around ensuring you feel fully prepared. You don’t need to have everything ready upfront; EdConnect provides a comprehensive training and support network to guide you through the entire journey: • Tailored Training: Before you begin, you will receive specialised training sessions specific to your role. These sessions—available both online and face-to-face—ensure you feel ready to make a difference from day one. • Assistance with Checks: Don't worry if you don't have your paperwork yet. EdConnect will help you navigate the process for obtaining your Working with Children Check and National Coordinated Criminal History Check, covering or reimbursing the associated fees. • Ongoing Growth: The learning continues throughout the year with access to workshops and refresher sessions to keep your skills sharp. • Community Connection: You’ll be part of a supportive local group, with regular coffee catch-ups and end of year social gatherings to share experiences with fellow volunteers in the Rockingham area. • Continuous Guidance: A dedicated Liaison Officer will support you through the interview and screening process and stay in touch to ensure you have a rewarding experience.
