RAH - Laundry Volunteer
Royal Adelaide Hospital, Hampstead Rehabilitation Centre and Repat Health Precinct Volunteers
Advertised by Volunteering SA&NTOffer a same day laundry service to patients who have no one to assist them by washing and drying their clothing.
- Undertake laundering of hospital laundry e.g. dressing gowns, recovery blankets and tele bags etc.
- Record all items that enter and exit the laundry service ensuring they are clearly identified and returned to the correct patient.
- Caring and cleaning of the machines used daily, wiping down and checking filters.
- Understand and adhere to strict patient confidentiality policies.
- Report any issues or obstacles to the appointed supervisor/coordinator.
- Train, shadow and mentor new volunteers to the service to assist in their knowledge and skills to ensure they are encouraged and confident with this role.
Special requirements:
- Have the physical ability to undertake the duties in a safe manner.
- Complete a clear and current criminal screening check.
- Comply with Work Health & Safety and Infection Control requirements.
- Comply with SA Health Immunisation guidelines including annual flu vaccinations.
- Complete all annual mandatory training requirements.
