RAH - Laundry Volunteer

Offer a same day laundry service to patients who have no one to assist them by washing and drying their clothing.

• Undertake laundering of hospital laundry e.g. dressing gowns, recovery blankets and tele bags etc.
• Record all items that enter and exit the laundry service ensuring they are clearly identified and returned to the correct patient.
• Caring and cleaning of the machines used daily, wiping down and checking filters.
• Understand and adhere to strict patient confidentiality policies.
• Report any issues or obstacles to the appointed supervisor/coordinator.
• Train, shadow and mentor new volunteers to the service to assist in their knowledge and skills to ensure they are encouraged and confident with this role.

Special requirements:

• Have the physical ability to undertake the duties in a safe manner.
• Complete a clear and current criminal screening check.
• Comply with Work Health & Safety and Infection Control requirements.
• Comply with SA Health Immunisation guidelines including annual flu vaccinations.
• Complete all annual mandatory training requirements.
