Horse Handler - Way of the Horse Coaching Inc

We are looking for a dedicated Horse Handler to join our Equine Learning Programme. This role involves working with horses in a therapeutic and educational setting, ensuring their well being and supporting programme participants in equine assisted learning activities. As a Horse Handler, you will play a vital role in maintaining a safe and engaging environment for both the horses and the individuals taking part in the programme. Your primary responsibilities will include daily horse care, handling horses during sessions and assisting facilitators.

Key Responsibilities: Horse Handling & Care; Handle and prepare horses for learning sessions ensuring they are calm, responsive, and suitable for participants. Lead or supervise horses during activities ensuring a safe and positive experience for participants. Monitor horse behaviour, recognising signs of stress or discomfort and responding appropriately. Groom horses as required for sessions. Assist with feeding, watering, and general stable duties. Ensure proper turnout and exercise routines for the horses.

Programme Support; Work closely with programme facilitators to support equine assisted learning activities, provide guidance and reassurance to participants interacting with the horses. Ensure all safety protocols are followed during sessions.
