As the Work, Health & Safety Advisor, you will be responsible for creating a safe and supportive environment for our wildlife volunteers, who are the backbone of our organisation. From maintaining enclosures to responding to emergencies, our volunteers work tirelessly, and your role ensures their safety—whether at home, outdoors, or on the move in our animal ambulance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain WHS policies and procedures to minimize risks.
- Conduct regular workplace inspections and risk assessments.
- Provide training and guidance on safety matters, emergency response, and first aid.
- Investigate incidents and recommend preventative measures.
- Foster a positive safety culture within the organization.
- Stay informed about legislation and best practices to ensure compliance.
What We’re Looking For:
- Relevant qualifications in Occupational Health and Safety or related fields.
- Experience in WHS advisory roles, ideally within volunteer-based or animal care sectors.
- Knowledge of WHS legislation and industry standards.
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
- A passion for wildlife conservation and education.

- Health assessment prior to commencement may be required.
- Appointment subject to a satisfactory police check.
