Pet Therapy Volunteer

To provide opportunity for emotional support for residents, to encourage reminiscence, sensory stimulation. Duties: visit residents with pet, ensure safety of residents with pet. Patience, sense of humour, self initiation, initiate interactions, maintain conversations. Understanding the importance of animals in our lives and the impact regular visits can have on our residents. Note: all pets must be fully vaccinated, have short nails and if relevant, be kept on a leash while on the premises.
